In an exciting virtual event, the "Tech 4 TT: Building a Sustainable and Inclusive Future" Hackathon brought together young innovators from Trinidad and Tobago in an event organized by The Trust for the Americas' local partner, the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI), and focused on challenging participants from the DIA Youth Innovation Lab in Trinidad and Tobago (DIA Lab TT) to develop innovative tech-based solutions.

Rodrigo Iriani, DIA Senior Program Manager, and Quimey Del Rio, Senior Project Officer, from The Trust for the Americas, embarked on a significant visit to the DIA Youth Innovation Lab in Trinidad and Tobago (DIA Lab TT) to bolster ties with local partner Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI) and donor Citi Foundation. This visit aimed to explore innovation, engage with stakeholders, and enhance collaboration in Trinidad and Tobago.

The DIA Summit at Trinidad and Tobago brought together members of the DIA network, stakeholders, government representatives, experts, and local organizations on November 23rd and 24th. Hosted by CARIRI, the local implementing partner of the DIA Youth Innovation Lab in Trinidad and Tobago (DIA Lab TT), the two-day event, themed "Innovating Future Generations," successfully fostered knowledge exchange, discussions on critical issues, networking, and collaboration to address challenges and promote meaningful initiatives.

The Trust for the Americas, en colaboración con su socio local ADASEC RD y con el apoyo financiero de Citi Foundation, llevó a cabo la Competencia Pitch de Proyectos Innovadores del DIA Lab RD - Bani. Un total de 13 proyectos se sometieron al escrutinio de un jurado multidisciplinario, evaluando criterios fundamentales como el modelo de negocio, el impacto social y medioambiental, la viabilidad económica y el grado de innovación. Los proyectos más destacados fueron reconocidos con USD 1,000 en fondos semilla para fortalecer sus estructuras e impulsar sus impactos.

In line with this year's Global Entrepreneurship Week theme "Entrepreneurs Thrive Here," the Trust for the Americas in partnership with the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI) and with the financial support of the Citi Foundation, hosted a Pitch Tank Competition at the DIA Youth Innovation Lab in Trinidad and Tobago (DIA Lab TT).

These young innovators now stand ready to harness their transformative potential and lead the charge in developing solutions that promise to usher new livelihood opportunities and foster economic development in their communities.

The Trust for the Americas, celebrated the in-person graduation of the pioneering JET Project cohort. Fourteen young Jamaicans can now make way for themselves in the labour force after acquiring digital and life skills through the Unleashing the Potential of Jamaican Youth Through Empowerment and Training (JET).
