In line with this year's Global Entrepreneurship Week theme "Entrepreneurs Thrive Here," the Trust for the Americas in partnership with the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI) and with the financial support of the Citi Foundation, hosted a Pitch Tank Competition at the DIA Youth Innovation Lab in Trinidad and Tobago (DIA Lab TT).

The Trust for the Americas, in collaboration with the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI) and the generous support of the Citi Foundation, celebrated the in-person graduation of 297 individuals from the DIA Youth Innovation Lab at Trinidad and Tobago. These young innovators now stand ready to harness their transformative potential and lead the charge in developing solutions that promise to usher new livelihood opportunities and foster economic development in their communities.

Santo Domingo se convirtió en el epicentro de un evento trascendental que congregó a jóvenes, representantes gubernamentales, emprendedores y expertos locales e internacionales. Los días 27 y 28 de septiembre de 2023, tuvo lugar el DIA Summit 2023, organizado por The Trust for the Americas en colaboración con ADASEC República Dominicana y con el respaldo financiero de la Fundación Citi.

En un evento presencial, Citi Foundation, The Trust for the Americas y ADASEC Dominicana celebraron el lanzamiento oficial del cuarto Laboratorio de Innovación DIA en República Dominicana (DIA Lab RD), un espacio de colaboración que brindará a más jóvenes de la comunidad de Bonao el acceso a tecnología y capacitación en habilidades digitales, de negocios y laborales, para contribuir a la empleabilidad y a la generación de oportunidades de sustento.

The Trust for the Americas, celebrated the in-person graduation of the pioneering JET Project cohort. Fourteen young Jamaicans can now make way for themselves in the labour force after acquiring digital and life skills through the Unleashing the Potential of Jamaican Youth Through Empowerment and Training (JET).

The Trust for the Americas, en colaboración con su socio local ADASEC RD y con el apoyo financiero de Citi Foundation, celebró la Competencia Pitch de Proyectos Innovadores del DIA Lab RD - La Vega. En esta ocasión, un total de 10 proyectos fueron presentados ante un jurado multidisciplinario, que evaluó criterios como el modelo de negocio, el impacto social y medioambiental, la viabilidad económica y el grado de innovación. Los proyectos más destacados fueron galardonados con USD 1,000 en fondos semilla para fortalecer sus estructuras y catalizar sus impactos.

After two years of implementation, the DIA Innovation Lab for Youth Belize (DIA Lab Belize) marked the successful completion of the first phase of the program. Key stakeholders gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of this groundbreaking initiative which aims to create a network of youth agents of change in Belize. The Trust for the Americas' project is supported financially by the U.S. Embassy Belize through the Central American Regional Security Initiative – Economic Support Fund (CARSI-ESF) and is implemented in collaboration with the University of West Indies (UWI) Open Campus.

The Trust for the Americas, in collaboration with the Caribbean School of Data (CSOD) is pleased to launch a digital literacy initiative at the Kolbe Foundation, Belize Central Prison. This initiative, facilitated through its DIA Innovation Lab for Youth Belize (DIA Lab Belize), aims to equip young inmates with the essential digital skills of the 21st century to enhance their employability upon release and empower them to secure a stable future.

In an exciting virtual event, the "Hack 4 Change" Regional Hackathon brought together young innovators from Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, and Belize. This idea-making event was organized by The Trust for the Americas' local partner, the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI), and focused on challenging participants from the Democratizing Innovation in the Americas' Lab network to develop innovative tech-based solutions.

En este evento, 21 proyectos se presentaron ante un jurado multidisciplinario en busca de la posibilidad de ganar fondos semilla para fortalecer e impulsar sus emprendimientos, los cuales buscan dar soluciones a problemáticas sociales en sus comunidades.
