Citi Trinidad and Tobago is delighted to announce an exceptional and engaging celebration for the 19th annual Global Community Day (GCD) at the H2O Grow agricultural farm in Valencia. This event, held in collaboration with beneficiaries from The Trust for the Americas' DIA Youth Innovation Lab TT, implemented by CARIRI, invited participants and their families to step out of their everyday routines and immerse themselves in the vibrant world of sustainable farming. Attendees gained hands-on experience, fostering a deeper connection with their community and the environment.

As the digital landscape evolves, the gap between current skill sets and market demands poses challenges for many young people. In this context, The Trust for the Americas, through its JET Project, addresses this issue by equipping Jamaican youth with digital, entrepreneurial, and life skills to catalyze their growth in the digital economy. Jamaica's future became brighter in this opportunity as 501 young Jamaicans celebrated their graduation from JET.

In an exciting virtual event, the "Tech 4 TT: Building a Sustainable and Inclusive Future" Hackathon brought together young innovators from Trinidad and Tobago in an event organized by The Trust for the Americas' local partner, the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI), and focused on challenging participants from the DIA Youth Innovation Lab in Trinidad and Tobago (DIA Lab TT) to develop innovative tech-based solutions.

The Trust for the Americas, through its Democratizing Innovation in the Americas Program (DIA), proudly celebrates the monumental achievement of Cohort 2's graduation from the JET Project, marking a remarkable milestone in the project's journey to empower Jamaican youth for the digital economy.

The DIA Lab TT has evolved into more than just a hub for technological training, mentorship, and access to advanced, state-of-the-art equipment. It's a catalyst for young entrepreneurs to bring their ideas to life, supported by seed funding provided by the Pitch Tank Competitions. This transformation was evident on February 28, as nine promising individuals, selected for their creativity and determination, gathered at CARIRI's Centre for Enterprise Development. There, amidst palpable excitement, they presented their innovative business concepts to a panel of esteemed judges. The diverse range of ventures, from eco-friendly skincare to cutting-edge agricultural technology, captivated the audience and impressed the judges.

The Trust for the Americas, en colaboración con su socio local ADASEC RD y con el apoyo financiero de Citi Foundation, llevó a cabo la Competencia Pitch de Proyectos Innovadores del DIA Lab RD - Bani. Un total de 13 proyectos se sometieron al escrutinio de un jurado multidisciplinario, evaluando criterios fundamentales como el modelo de negocio, el impacto social y medioambiental, la viabilidad económica y el grado de innovación. Los proyectos más destacados fueron reconocidos con USD 1,000 en fondos semilla para fortalecer sus estructuras e impulsar sus impactos.

The DIA Summit at Trinidad and Tobago brought together members of the DIA network, stakeholders, government representatives, experts, and local organizations on November 23rd and 24th. Hosted by CARIRI, the local implementing partner of the DIA Youth Innovation Lab in Trinidad and Tobago (DIA Lab TT), the two-day event, themed "Innovating Future Generations," successfully fostered knowledge exchange, discussions on critical issues, networking, and collaboration to address challenges and promote meaningful initiatives.
