As a Senior Project Officer at The Trust for the Americas, Quimey supports the implementation of the DIA (Democratizing Innovation in the Americas) program in the Caribbean. This initiative centers around promoting and developing Skills for Tomorrow, Sustainable Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Digital Skills amongst Caribbean youth.
With 4 years of experience working at the Trust, Quimey has contributed to a wide range of areas: from Digital Literacy and Economic Opportunities initiatives in Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Chile; to Open Government and Open Data initiatives in Costa Rica and Belize; and now Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Jamaica. He has experience in Government and Diplomacy, having previously worked for the Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Plurinational Legislative Assembly of Bolivia, and the Santa Cruz Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Quimey holds both a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from NUR University in Santa Cruz de la Sierra - Bolivia, and a certification from the London School of Economics in Technological Disruption: Managing the Impact on Business, Society, and Politics. He has also studied Dramatic Arts at William Esper Studio in New York. He is both fluent in Spanish and English.
